October 10th to October 17th

Hi Spartans!  Welcome to week 7 in the PE cycle.  This cycle, all grade levels will be working on physical fitness activities and tests.  Grades 4-5-6 will complete a sit up test, jump rope, exercise through a course, and receive a homework assignment.  Students will create a map of an exercise course.  Primary grades will experience a lesson on body awareness, recognizing body parts, and knowledge of left and right.  They will be tested on the standing broad jump and flexibility (the sit and reach test).  On October 11th a program will be presented to the students in the gym.  Day 2 will be repeated on 10/11 and 10/12.  The program deals with "Slacklining" and will be presented by Travis Brown, a former NS student.  You may have seen slacklining on the Super Bowl Half Time Show.  I know the students will enjoy this program.  Book exchange students will work on Fire Safety worksheets.  The Spartan Football Team will play Mt Carmel this week.  Good Luck Spartans!  Congratulations to golfer Justine Paul on her 2nd place victory at districts.  Way to go!
